Life was experienced,

Instances were enjoyed,

And love was shared.

Now, I don't want a place in your heart,

Standstill

A distant wave, a distant cry, a distant laugh...

I won't hear, until I standstill.

The other side

Why are all stories chronicles of success, narratives of conquests, tales of happy endings? Why do we fail to see that the stories could have been the other way round, for every success means someone else's failure, every war won means a loss for the other side and every conquest by the conquerer means a forfeiture by the conquered.

It is only a matter of luck that the outcome was in your favor because the mistakes you made this time weren't as grave as the mistake made by your competitor. The end result would have been very different if you had done something else. You might have been the one that failed, the one that had been conquered!

Reveling in the victory makes sense but that doesn't mean that it is the end. It only gets tougher from there. Expectations, presumptions, and overconfidence- the evils of all times...

An ode to You

It's been 7 years. It has been a long long time since I last saw you. It was just yesterday that you used to tell me stories, give me lessons, go for walks with me, the chuute maiya, and of course buy milk badam. And now just the pleasant memories of your presence.

I still feel you around me. I still feel that you can see me here, that you know I am here. I have felt your presence during the darkest hours and I have felt your hand on my head. I have heard you voice soothing me.

I just wish you were here, I am sure you would have been proud of all of us. Your presence is irreplaceable and therefore treasured in my heart forever.

The quest

A couple of days back me and my friend were chatting. I don't know from where but the topic suddenly changed to what all qualities the guy I date/marry should possess. The list was interesting, so just for the sake of some fun I am sharing it with you all. Here it goes...


patience
perseverance
complex puzzling emotional demystifying problem solving knack
funde baaz- backed with facts (backed with facts is important all the fundas should sound authentic)
timely and punctual (I will never make you wait so never ever make me wait too)
not overtly emotional (very important)
who can enjoy little things and go out to see and enjoy small things in life
extra sharp memory for things he ought to remember otherwise he is done for life
he should be able to hear what you don't speak


After hearing this I was sure I am never going to find anyone!

The Best Places

No this is not a travelogue. I am not going to write about Goa or Amsterdam. So what are the best places in the world? The places I want to be and being there doesn't cost anything. The first one is with my Mom. No experience in the world is comparable to that. It's the warmth of her love, it's the tenderness of her touch, it's the boundless love which makes you go back again and again. Her presences makes me feel secure that nothing in the world can harm me. Her faith in me makes me believe that I can achieve anything...

The second best place is a bookshop. Whenever I have nothing to do, I am a bit bored, or a bit depressed I head to a bookshop. So many books make me realize the infinite knowledge around me. I shouldn't have time to be bored or depressed. There is so much around me that I have to understand and learn...
