wait at the airport
Sitting at the airport, waiting for my flight back to delhi, back to the real world, party's over!! This trip has been very different from the usual trips, i talked to so many different people the driver, the internet cafe wala, so many seniors frm Symbi, the shop wala bhaiya, the bakery wala bhaiya-- which is so not me. Right now sitting in the airport, observing people. Everyone engrossed in their own world. Everyone's life is a story in which they are the main protagonist (I kno it's a cliche, but i cudn't resist it here). Someone waiting to their son/daughter, autowala's waiting for a sawari (pestering the outgoing passengers), a family in front of me going for a marriage, an inquisitive person peering into my laptop(shoo man), so many ppl around me going on business trips, some ppl goin to meet their friends, some people going back to their homes, some ppl goin away frm their homes, an MBA student carrying a survey asking these people to fill a survey form. Each indiviual here has something to tell. Each face here showing an eagerness for the future. And, life goes on... As for me, 2 more hrs of waiting!! Im trying to entertain myself by making wierd faces for the kid in front of me, but he doesn't react. Useless kid!! Let the wait go on...

Let me tell you an airport story... from first person perspective.
ReplyDeleteIt was the first time i was going back to delhi after coming to bangalore. I was the happiest guy in the world. After having packed my stuff the previous night I took off from office 4 hrs before the scheduled departure after completing everything that was assigned to me. I caught an airport bus just in time. I switched on my IPod dragged my luggage across the road and spent ten minutes reading when it started raining. The excitement of meeting my folks after 3 months, my first time away from home, beamed on my face... I reached the airport 2.5 hours early. While there I felt hungry and had the best snack ever. An egg cheese roll with orange juice. When you are happy everything just seems to fall into place for you... Soon I was in the waiting lounge where there was a coffee shop. I took a coffee and sat down at the internet cafe nearby. I mailed a few fellas and next thing I know the flight boarding is announced. I board the flight praying to God that the seat next to me is empty so that I can sleep in peace. But God is already planning to make my day even better... In walks the most beautiful woman I have seen in my entire life. From her mannerism I estimated her age at about 28 or 29 but from her looks she looked hardly older than 23. But wait this wasnt over yet. She sits right next to me.. For the first half hour I am too numb to say or do anything. But as my luck would have it that day, she initiates a discussion about where I am heading to. She worked as an HR in some company in Delhi on visit to Bangalore. And we talk on our journey all the way till touchdown. I bid her goodbye and not wanting to spoil it all I dont ask her name or number. With a "nice to meet you" I leave her after collecting my baggage and proceed towards the exit area where mom and dad are waiting for me. I head home and have Rajma Chawal after a 4 month hiatus. before turning in that day I recall the entire day and wonder how amazing life would be if everyday was like the one I just spent... What if daily I could do all this
